A rapid semiquantitative approach to the calculation of net group charge (q) is a research paper published in Canadian Journal of Chemistry (1982). On theSindex it has a DataRank of 0.590. It has been cited 6 times, with 6 citing works in its 1-hop citation network.
Huheey's approach to the calculation of partial charges on groups is extended and some group electronegativity parameters modified. The modified form of Huheey's method is shown to provide rapid access to net group charges (population numbers) in cations, radicals, anions, and sulfur trigonal bipyramids. Results obtained by substituent electronegativity calculations are shown to be comparable to those obtained by abinitio calculations.
FAIR checklist signals are shown for context only and do not affect DataRank scoring.
Base Score Contribution

Citation Network Contribution
0.298
From 6 citing papers with measurable signal
Ranked by citation count — the same ordering the engine uses when summing log1p(Cq) over citers.
DataRank blends this paper's own citation count with the influence of the papers that cite it. Here, roughly 49% comes from its base citations and 51% from the citation network (6 citing papers contributed measurable signal).
Citers are pulled from OpenAlex sorted by cited_by_count:descand capped per paper, so when the cap binds we keep the highest-signal references and the score is reproducible across reruns.
