A Mutant of Escherichia coli with a New, Highly Efficient Promoter for the Lactose Operon is a research paper published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (1973). On theSindex it has a DataRank of 0.559. It has been cited 10 times, with 8 citing works in its 1-hop citation network.
We have isolated a mutant of E. coli whose maximal rate of synthesis of lac mRNA is 25-fold greater than that of its parental wild-type strain. The mutant also shows alterations in the kinetics of β-galactosidase synthesis, the functional half-life of β-galactosidase mRNA, and the properties of lac repressor.

Base Score Contribution
0.360
From this paper's citation signal
Citation Network Contribution
0.199
From 6 citing papers with measurable signal
DataRank blends this paper's own citation count with the influence of the papers that cite it. Here, roughly 64% comes from its base citations and 36% from the citation network (6 citing papers contributed measurable signal).
Citers are pulled from OpenAlex sorted by cited_by_count:descand capped per paper, so when the cap binds we keep the highest-signal references and the score is reproducible across reruns.
